They showed up and the girls at Government Secondary School, Lugbe, Abuja, are better for it.

The “Girl-Child Menstrual Health Outreach” was about more than sanitary pads. It was about breaking silence. About helping young girls understand their bodies without shame, ask questions without fear, and walk away feeling like they deserve care.

Group 7 of the Set 24 Centre LSD Leadership School made that possible and here’s what the day looked like:

✅ Menstrual hygiene education sessions

✅ Confidence-building conversations

✅ Demonstrations on proper use and disposal of sanitary pads

✅ Distribution of sanitary hygiene materials to every girl in the room

It was an honor to have Mrs. Bilkisu Ibrahim represent the FCT Secondary Education Board at the event a reminder that this work is not just ours. It takes institutions showing up too.

To the students, teachers, and every member of Group 7 who made this happen, thank you. This is what community development looks like when it’s rooted in dignity.

We’re proud of the Leaders that African Centre for Leadership, Strategy & Development is producing.
